Well hi everyone,
As you know we arrived in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria on 22nd October after a very enjoyable trip with Janet and Dominique. The weather was kind to us and we were in great company. Janet embraced the trip whole heartedly despite having never done an overnight sail or voyage of any length before.
Tony and Janet made a great watch team and Dominic and myself too. The watch system worked well again although poor Janet suffered a little from sleep deprivation but solidly did her watches. I teased Dominic mercilessly for wanting to twink the sails and make course changes but in honesty it was great to get another view point and to never stop learning from another person.
The high light of the trip was seeing two whales gracefully heading North along the African coast but sadly no dolphins at all. I really wanted Janet and Dominic to see the night time phenomena of dolphins appearing to torpedo the boat in the phosphorescence. One of the lovely things about sailing is also making land fall. It is a nice approach through the Canary Islands passing Lanzarote and Fuerteventura before arriving in GC.
We had a really nice couple of days with Janet and Dominic when we got in and were sad to see them leave for the airport.
Love to all Tina Tony x x (Photo’s below of the trip)
