We are just passing through a group of Islands called “Isole Eolie” which sit just north of Sicily. We have had a good uneventful day passing quickly through the Straits of Messina with a good southery wind blowing us north through the narrow disturbed waters of the Straits that separate Mainland Italy from Sicily. Its a strange place with distributed waters and strong tides. Its the third time I have been through and its always nice to come out safely on the other side.
The weather is a little disappointing. An overcast day with no sunshire. I understand the weather back home is very good at the moment. I lot better than the Med for sure. Its just going dark here so we can preparing our selves for another night at sea. Nav lights, life jackets and safety harnesses. Red lights in the cabin for night vison and a strong cup of hot coffee. Its time to man the Radar. Goodnight all
Tony, Deb and Pete.
