On 18th September, the wind blew hard as is does in Corsica and Sardinia when the mistral blows. So with an enforced stay in Porto Vecchio marina on the west coast, we hired a car to explore a little of Corsica. This mountainous island is fairly impenetrable without plenty of time to go on small roads around or over the giant mountains. So with the time we had we drove through some of the interior and then to the south coast where we could see that the wind was treacherously howling through the Bonifacio straits. Unfortunately it also rained so we didn’t really see some of the tiny villages at their best. Here are some photos.
